Former Computational Social Scientist
Stefan Wojcik is a former computational social scientist at Pew Research Center. He is an expert in applying data science tools and methods to social science research questions. His work involves using digital trace or social media data to understand the flow of information online, public opinion and behavior. Wojcik has authored reports on the prevalence of links posted by automated accounts on Twitter. He received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Colorado, where he conducted research on legislative networks in Brazil. In his postdoctoral research at Northeastern and Harvard universities, his work focused on forecasting global presidential elections and tracing public opinion with social media data. His work appears in academic journals such as Science, Political Science Research and Methods, Political Research Quarterly and Legislative Studies Quarterly.
